the red and white cat of the Tashkent appeal, unnamed in the source

Domestic · line: Malvina / Barnaul · both eyes blue, put down to a DBE variant or its line · Published line, tested against the known variants and carrying none

Genealogy trace, one printable page carrying the proposed code

Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 161 x5p. A carrier of a variant with no published allele, on a line this proposal gives a suffix to. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.

How this cat is connected to the trait

No recorded parent link joins this cat to a founder or to a tested animal. What the record rests on instead is the line recorded on it, Malvina / Barnaul, which is a source's attribution and not a descent this register can walk; and no recorded parent at all, which is a gap in the sources and not a statement that the cat had none.

No parent is recorded for this cat in the register, so no genealogy can be drawn. That is a gap in the sources, not a statement that the cat had none. Any offspring the register holds are listed below.

The description held
A red and white cat with both eyes blue, photographed indoors wearing a harness. The white is a blaze on the muzzle and chin and on the feet; The face is otherwise red and the blue eye is not set in white. Recorded on the compiler's attribution that this animal is of the Malvina line. No name, no code, no pedigree and no test are held for it, and nothing connects it to another record in this register; the identification is open and is being pursued. Homozygosity in this line is stated to be lethal. Professor Marie abitbol, who identified DBE-ALT and DBE-CEL, states in her 2026 World Cat Federation presentation, on the slide headed 'Malvina line', that this is a dominant blue eye line from Russia, that it was introduced into the Siberian breed, that homozygosity is lethal, that there is no data on deafness, and that the search for the variant is ongoing. This is the researcher's statement and not this survey's finding. It is recorded against every animal of the line because a breeder looks up an animal and not a line. S_LETHAL_206 S_MALVINALOST_215 this is the animal reproduced on professor abitbol's slide. Her 2026 World Cat Federation presentation carries a slide headed 'Malvina line' with two photographs: Malvina herself at the top, a tortoiseshell and white semi-longhair, and this cat at the Foot. The slide states that the line was introduced into the Siberian breed, that homozygosity is lethal, that there is no data on deafness, and that the search for the variant is ongoing. The compiler proposes, on appearance and not on a test, that this animal is of the Igor type rather than of the type the rest of the Malvina material shows. That is a phenotype variant association and it is not adopted: the Igor determinant has never been identified, so there is no allele to attribute even if the reading is right. S_MALVSLIDE_219

This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
