Fyodor

Domestic shorthair · line: Altai / Nikita'l Seymour · both eyes blue · Identified from descendants, never genotyped

Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 161p. A carrier of a variant nobody has sequenced, on no named line. This is the group bare 161 exists for. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.

How this cat is connected to the trait

NO RECORDED PARENT LINK JOINS THIS CAT TO A FOUNDER OR TO A TESTED ANIMAL. What the record rests on instead is the line recorded on it, Altai / Nikita'l Seymour, which is a source's attribution and not a descent this register can walk; and a variant a source attributes to it, DBE-ALT, which this survey does not adopt; and no recorded parent at all, which is a gap in the sources and not a statement that the cat had none.

No parent is recorded for this cat in the register, so no genealogy can be drawn. That is a gap in the sources, not a statement that the cat had none. Any offspring the register holds are listed below.

Source

messybeast.com, Altai account. That account gives Fyodor and Seymour as one cat. Iryna Merzlenko records them as two: Fyodor the black cat, Nikita'l Seymour a silver tabby of the Topaz, carrying the same variant. The survey records them separately. In 2024 the offspring, not the founder, were found to carry DBE-ALT

This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
