a cat of the Chinese Domestic Cat variant, not named in the source
Chinese domestic cat · DBE-cDc · line: Chinese Domestic Cat variant · both eyes blue, put down to a DBE variant or its line · Genotyped
Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 166p. The variant is attributed to this animal from the record rather than from a result on it. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.
How this cat is connected to the trait
No recorded parent link joins this cat to a founder or to a tested animal. What the record rests on instead is the line recorded on it, Chinese Domestic Cat variant, which is a source's attribution and not a descent this register can walk; and a variant recorded on the animal itself, DBE-cDc; and no recorded parent at all, which is a gap in the sources and not a statement that the cat had none.
No parent is recorded for this cat in the register, so no genealogy can be drawn. That is a gap in the sources, not a statement that the cat had none. Any offspring the register holds are listed below.
What is flagged
A cat of the Chinese domestic cat variant, not named in the source. Why this record matters more than its one line of evidence suggests. DBE-cDc is the only one of the eight variants for which a test is sold and no cat was held, and a register that carries an assay with no animal behind it is carrying a name rather than a finding. This is the first cat. It is also a black cat with two blue eyes and no white, which is the phenotype this whole survey turns on. The grade is reported and can be nothing better: the animal is unnamed, its genotype is not published, no paper describes the variant and the label DBE 5 on the photograph is the laboratory's own and not a result sheet seen by this register. A flag is not an error. It marks a place where two sources say different things, or where an attribution cannot be made on the evidence held.

The description held
A black kitten with two blue eyes, read from the photograph 13 September 2026, which carries the laboratory's own label DBE 5 on its face. A solid black cat with two blue eyes is the cleanest demonstration there is that a dominant blue eye needs no white: there is no white anywhere on this animal to which the eye could be attributed, no point gene expresses on a black coat this way, and the eye stands on its own. That is the point the no-white test in this survey rests on, shown in one photograph. No genotype for this individual is published

Source
a laboratory slide carrying two photographs of one black blue-eyed kitten, each labelled DBE 5 on its face, read 13 September 2026. DBE5 is the identifying laboratory's own number for DBE-cDc. A second photograph of the same animal is held and not published
This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
