the red and white household pet of the Barnaul chart, unnamed in the source
Domestic · line: Malvina / Barnaul · the source records no eye colour · Published line, tested against the known variants and carrying none
Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 161 x5p. A carrier of a variant with no published allele, on a line this proposal gives a suffix to. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.
How this cat is connected to the trait
the red and white household pet of the Barnaul chart...
Malvina's blue-eyed boy, unnamed in the source, the sire of the red and white household pet of the Barnaul chart...
Malvina, SIB f 03 61, the dam of Malvina's blue-eyed boy, unnamed in the source. a founder of this survey; no variant has ever been identified in this line
That is 2 recorded parent links, and the animal at the end of it has never been tested, so the connection is a descent and not a result. Every step is a parent recorded in this register from a document; none of them is an assumption. The full genealogy is drawn below, and the sources for each animal are on its own page.

What the pedigree implies
One of an obligate pair. Paired with Tabby tortie and white female of the Barnaul chart, unnamed in the source, for Black and white male of the Barnaul chart, unnamed in the source
This is computed from the recorded parentage each time this site is built and is not typed into the register. It is a deduction from the trait being dominant, not a statement by any source, and it is not the same thing as the record's own status field. Only a laboratory settles it for an individual. The full list is on latent lines.
What is flagged on this tree
MALVINA. The breeder of the Meowrigi cattery gives her own account of this animal, relayed to this survey on 2 September 2026: She is the foundation of that line and she was found in Kazakhstan. The register holds her as found in Russia, at Barnaul in the Altai region, in 2015, and the researcher's 2026 presentation slide also calls this a line from Russia. The two countries are not reconciled here and both readings are kept: a found cat has no paperwork to settle it, and the Altai region borders Kazakhstan. Separately, the breed is open. This register holds her as a Siberian with a Siberian code, while the researcher's slide describes the line as a domestic shorthair line introduced into the Siberian breed, which would make the Siberian what she was bred into rather than what she was. That is the same shape of error corrected on the Marusya founder and it is recorded here rather than acted on. How the compiler reads the country disagreement: that the sources are probably not disagreeing about geography at all, but using Russia loosely for the whole post-Soviet region, so that a cat found on the Kazakh side of the Altai is written down as Russian. That reading is recorded and not adopted, and it is worth carrying beyond this animal, because several of this register's founding lines come from exactly that border country. S_RANO_228 she was mated to the Aktau founder and this register holds none of the kittens. The Meowrigi chart records two matings of Caspian Black Hole, the Aktau founder, to this animal, and the compiler was told on 2 September 2026 that the breeder who found her holds the offspring. Such a kitten would stand below the Barnaul founder on the dam's side and the Aktau founder on the sire's, which is the only mating of two separate dominant blue eye founders this survey has found. Neither determinant is identified and no test exists for either, so nothing is claimed about what those animals carry. The sire was deaf. Their pedigrees are the single most valuable thing outstanding on this line. The chain below her is repaired, 2 SEPTEMBER 2026. Her blue-eyed boy is now entered as a record of his own, where this register had wrongly put Raimonda Slavicat, and the descent to Velvet now runs through four names as the breeder describes it rather than three. S_BARNAUL_231 the breeder's own account of the find, 2 September 2026, answers every open question on this record. She is not a pedigree Siberian. She was found, and the breeder registered her as a Siberian because she looks like one, at a cattery that breeds Siberians. That is a registration made on appearance and not a descent, and it is why this survey's own records and Professor Abitbol's 2026 slide, which calls the line a domestic shorthair line introduced into the Siberian breed, were never really in conflict. The breed field is corrected to domestic shorthair and the Siberian registration is recorded here as what it is. She was already pregnant when she was found, by a tom cat, and that disposes of the date difficulty this register raised: a cat found in 2015 can have a kitten born early in 2015 if she arrived carrying it, so no earlier find and no impossibility need be supposed. The Tom is the black and white domestic shorthair this register already holds, unnamed, and he was never in anyone's hands. There were further kittens of that litter and this register holds only one of them, the blue-eyed boy who was crossed with Raimonda; the rest are a documented gap. S_BARNAUL_231 | seven DBE cats of this line were genotyped and the line is excluded from both new variants. Abitbol M, Eisele T and Lipovenko E, 'Additional PAX3 Variants for Dominant Blue Eyes in Cats', Animal Genetics 2026;57:e70199, Table 1 gives 'Malvina, 7' with four tested for DBE-NAD and all four wild-type, and four tested for DBE-MARU and all four C/C, which is wild-type. This is the first laboratory result this register has held for the Barnaul line and it is an exclusion, not an identification. The determinant of this line remains unpublished. S_PAX3_2026_235
The black and white domestic shorthair of the Barnaul chart, unnamed in the source. He is the Tom that sired the founding litter before anyone had either cat. The breeder states, 2 September 2026, that Malvina was already pregnant when she was found. This animal is therefore an unowned cat of the same place, never registered, never examined and never photographed, and he is one of the two animals the whole Barnaul line comes from. Nothing is known of his eyes. That matters: with a dominant determinant it takes only one parent to carry it, and this register cannot say which of the two did, or whether both did. S_BARNAUL_231 | the Appeal photograph is not an independent image. The holder of this register states, 13 SEPTEMBER 2026, that the same photograph is used for a founder cat of this line. A public appeal and a founder portrait carrying one image are not two sightings of two animals, and this record was entered as though they were. Which founder is not settled here and the record is not merged on an unnamed one. Until it is named, this record stands as what the appeal shows and NOT as evidence of a separate animal of the Malvina line. The photograph now carries a credit and is published on that footing. S_FEB2024_261 | the Appeal photograph is withdrawn from publication, ruled by the holder of this register on 13 SEPTEMBER 2026. Two reasons stand together. The Appeal was a private person's notice: it named two people, gave two telephone numbers and carried a photograph of a private individual, none of which this register has ever held, and the animal's image came out of that same notice. And the image is not an independent one, because the same photograph is used for a founder cat of this line. A photograph of this animal exists from the breeder and it is that one that will be published. Its copyright holder is recorded in the private breeder field and the credit will carry the surname alone, which is the rule set for photographs on 13 September 2026. Nothing is published against this record until the breeder's image is supplied. S_PHOTORULINGS_268
Malvina's blue-eyed boy, unnamed in the source. ENTERED 2 SEPTEMBER 2026 to repair a collapsed generation. This register put Raimonda Slavicat in this animal's place, recording her as Malvina's own daughter, while its own note on Malvina said that Malvina's blue-eyed kitten was bred TO Raimonda. The breeder who found Malvina settled it on 2 SEPTEMBER 2026: Raimonda is a pedigree Siberian she crossed with one of Malvina's, and not Malvina's daughter. Her chart draws this animal and Raimonda joined by a cross. S_BARNAUL_231 he is one of several kittens of that litter and the only one this register holds. The breeder states that Malvina was found pregnant and that this litter had other kittens, and that one male of it was crossed with Raimonda, which is this animal. His littermates are not recorded here. S_BARNAUL_231
Raimonda Slavicat. Her own details are now held, from the line's own slide supplied 2 September 2026: SIB n 24, BORN 10 APRIL 2015, Siberian, green eyed, bred by the breeder who found Malvina. That date narrows the generation question in this line without settling it. This register carries her as Malvina's own daughter, and it separately records that Malvina was found in 2015 with no month given. A kitten born on 10 APRIL 2015 was conceived around the first week of february, so Malvina can only be the dam if she was found, settled and mated inside the first five weeks of that year. That is possible and it is not ruled out here; it is simply tight, and it would mean the find was January 2015 or earlier than the year recorded. The stronger evidence is not the date at all. This record's own note says something different from its own parent links, that Malvina's blue-eyed kitten was bred TO Raimonda, which would make her a mate brought in and not a daughter, and the breeder's count of generations agrees with that note. The mating to Caspian black Hole is the outstanding request on this line. This register records two matings of that Aktau founder to Malvina and holds not one of the kittens; the compiler was told on 2 September 2026 that the breeder who found Malvina has them. They would stand below two separate dominant blue eye founders at once and there is nothing else of that description in this register. The reading that reconciles everything is the breeder's own: Malvina, then her blue-eyed kitten, then the red and white male who is Velvet's sire, then Velvet, which makes Velvet a Great-granddaughter exactly as the breeder says and makes this animal a mate rather than a daughter. The parent links are not changed here because moving them moves the trace, and that is the compiler's decision and not this note's. She is green eyed and stands between blue-eyed animals, which is what a dominant determinant passing through some offspring and not others looks like. S_RANOCERT_230 CORRECTED 2 SEPTEMBER 2026: She is not malvina's daughter and her parent links are removed. The breeder who found Malvina and bred this animal put the question herself, asking how Malvina could be Raimonda's mother, and answered it: Raimonda is a pedigree Siberian that she crossed with one of Malvina's. Her chart draws this animal joined by a cross to Malvina's blue-eyed boy, which is a mating and not a descent. The register had her in that boy's place, which collapsed one generation out of the Barnaul chain and is why the breeder's count of Velvet as a great-granddaughter did not agree with this register's count of granddaughter. The missing boy is now entered and the counts agree. Her own pedigree is not held here and her ancestors are not this register's. S_BARNAUL_231
The red and white household pet of the Barnaul chart, unnamed in the source. His parents are entered 2 SEPTEMBER 2026 from the breeder's own chart: out of Malvina's blue-eyed boy by Raimonda Slavicat. He was then put to his own littermate, the tabby tortie and white female, giving Velvet and a blue-eyed black and white brother. S_BARNAUL_231
