Joyfield's Dolly
prefix Joyfield · Maine Coon · DBE-RE · line: Rociri Elvis · both eyes blue · Variant known, this cat untested · also in its ancestry: Pillowtalk-Foreigner
Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 164p. The variant is attributed to this animal from the record rather than from a result on it. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.
How this cat is connected to the trait
Joyfield's Dolly, MCO g 09 68
Rociri Elvis, MCO e 09 68, the sire of Joyfield's Dolly. DBE-RE, adopted by this survey; a founder of this survey
That is one recorded parent link, and the animal at the end of it carries a variant this survey has adopted, but has not itself been tested. Every step is a parent recorded in this register from a document; none of them is an assumption. The full genealogy is drawn below, and the sources for each animal are on its own page.

How the variant was established
LINEAGE GENOTYPED, DBE-RE. NOT TESTED. DBE-RE IS FIXED BY A DNA GENOTYPE IN THIS CAT'S OFFSPRING. Joyfield's Survivor van Nous Deux carries DBE-RE and a dominant allele must come from a parent. No other recorded parent of that cat shows a blue or odd eye, so this cat transmitted it. The deduction is certain and no sample of this animal exists.
Computed from the recorded parentage at every build. It sits above a traced descent and below a laboratory result, and it is withheld wherever a second variant sits in the ancestry.
What is flagged on this tree
JUSTCOONS HA SHISCH. Trace. THE PUBLISHED GENOTYPING TRACES THE VARIANT ABOVE ROCIRI'S ELVIS, as a latent variant carried by white cats in which it could not be seen, to Justcoons Ha Shisch and then, after several generations, to JW Olmocabe's Alastor. THIS CAT IS WHITE, SO ITS EYE COLOUR CANNOT BE READ: dominant white acts through KIT and a variant through PAX3, and the eye alone does not say which. The two statements are not the same claim and both may hold: white would account for the eye, and the animal may still carry the variant unseen. The survey records both and does not decide which the eye colour shows
ANVERSCOON GRENACHE. Resolved. WHICH PARENT IS THE SIRE IS NOW SETTLED BY A CHART. The register previously held both of this cat's parents as dams. The PawPeds pedigree for Joyfield's Survivor van Nous Deux read 17 August 2026 places MAINEFIELD'S OYE COMO VA IN THE SIRE POSITION and Aislinn's Exciting Blue in the dam position
ROCIRI ELVIS, GIVEN ON THE PEDIGREE AS ROCIRI'S ELVIS. HIS OWN SHEET, AND WHAT IS AND IS NOT ON IT. THIRTY ANCESTORS, ALL THIRTY UNIQUE, FOUR COMPLETE GENERATIONS, INBREEDING 0.0 PER CENT. THE 68 ON HIM IS THE ONLY 68 ON THE WHOLE DOCUMENT AND THE ONLY EYE CODE OF ANY KIND ON IT IS THE 63 ON JUSTCOONS HA SHISCH, MCO w 63, A DOMINANT WHITE ODD-EYED CAT IN THE THIRD GENERATION. His grandsire Mainefield's Oye Como Va is MCO w, also white, and carries no eye code. NO OTHER ANIMAL ON THE SHEET CARRIES AN EYE CODE AT ALL. THAT IS THE WHOLE OF THE EVIDENCE ABOVE HIM: two white cats, one of them odd-eyed, and twenty-eight animals with nothing recorded about their eyes. In a white cat an eye cannot be read either way, so the sheet neither supplies a source for his 68 nor rules one out, WHICH IS WHY THE PUBLISHED TRACE ABOVE HIM RUNS THROUGH WHITE CATS AND GOES COLD THERE
A flag is not an error. It marks a place where two sources say different things, or where an attribution cannot be made on the evidence held.

This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
