The chart gave him out of Jamie Colourfoot, herself annotated 'White spotting gene?'. The Pawpeds pedigree gives Enisey Siberian Sapphire and Zumba Wisniowy Sad, and neither is Jamie Colourfoot. The parent links follow the registry sheet and the chart reading is not defended | no eye code on him or on any of his thirty ancestors, on a sheet with four complete generations. He is a blue-eyed cat whose entire recorded ancestry is silent about eyes | colourpoint stands two generations back and does not explain him. Two Neva Masquerade ancestors, IC Mannegumman's NikCap Flavio and Mannegumman's Kinel Nikita, both NEM ny 21, stand on his dam side. The alternative is not closed and only a genotype closes it. A photograph is better evidence of extent than a code, so where one has been read the phenotype note should be preferred to this flag. The description held

blue golden bicolour blotched tabby with two blue eyes. The chart that first carried him annotates him 'White spotting or DBE?', leaving the cause open. His registry code closes it: SIB ay 03 22 is bicolour white spotting, not dominant white and not colourpointed, and white spotting covers an eye where the white falls, giving an odd eye and not two blue ones. The coat does not account for him and the compiler's alternative is excluded homozygosity in this line is stated to be lethal. Professor Marie abitbol, who identified DBE-ALT and DBE-CEL, states in her 2026 World Cat Federation presentation, on the slide headed 'Malvina line', that this is a dominant blue eye line from Russia, that it was introduced into the Siberian breed, that homozygosity is lethal, that there is no data on deafness, and that the search for the variant is ongoing. This is the researcher's statement and not this survey's finding: the presentation gives the conclusion without the underlying counts, so no number of lost kittens is claimed here. It is recorded against every animal of the line because a breeder looks up an animal and not a line. What it means in practice: mating two carriers of this determinant together is expected to lose the quarter of the litter that inherits two copies, and because those kittens do not survive to be counted, a breeder doing it may see only small litters and conclude nothing is wrong. It is a different and worse harm from the compound heterozygote this register documents elsewhere, which is white and deaf and which lives.
