2. Ermine trace Lazurit. Variant taken over high white, on a ruling and not on a test. This cat carries dominant white, a van, harlequin or bicolour figure, or a point figure, any of which leaves enough unpigmented iris to account for a blue eye without PAX3. It also carries a variant or stands in a DBE line, and the holder ruled on 31 August 2026 that the variant is taken as the cause in that situation. The alternative is not closed and only a genotype closes it. A photograph is better evidence of extent than a code, so where one has been read the phenotype note should be preferred to this flag. It descends from Ermine Trace Nadeya, who is genotyped DBE-NAD, but it shows no blue or odd eye and holds no test. A dominant determinant passes to about half the kittens of a carrier, so a descendant without the eye is as likely to be wild-type as to be a latent carrier. One litter, one sire, one dam, and the registry wrote 68 on one and 69 on the other. Neither kitten carries any white: ny 11 is black golden shaded and ny 12 black golden shell, and there is no w, no 01, 02, 03, 08 or 09 and no 33 on either | the sire supplies nothing. DriveGrad Dream is BSH ny 12 with no eye code, and not one of the fourteen Driver and MiracleBri animals recorded above him carries one either. THE 33 is the colourpoint and the 08 is the DBE white: two separate causes of a pale eye written on one code, in one cat. This is the case the survey's pointing rule exists for. A colourpoint cat has blue eyes for an ordinary reason, so its dominant blue eye cannot be read off its face and can only be established by a test. The published genotyping found exactly this: of seven colourpoint cats of this line whose state could not be read, three carried the variant and four did not. The cattery's litter page for F5 gives the sire of Faberge Ermine Trace as Ermine trace Velvet, BRI as 11 33, out of Ermine Trace Zarafina on 7 April 2022. Faberge's own certificate, gives the sire of the same kitten on the same date out of the same dam as Ermine trace Barkhat, BRI as 11 33. The codes are identical, the dam is the same and the date is the same. On the evidence these are one animal under two names. Nothing is folded: this register does not merge two records on an inference, and the fold would move three litters and their kittens onto a different parent. Awaiting the compiler's ruling. S_ERMINE_LITTERS_239 | entered from a photograph and a name, which is the thinnest basis this | his code and three litters came in on 13 SEPTEMBER 2026 and he is a colourpoint. BRI as 11 33, blue silver shaded point. THE 33 gives him blue eyes for an ordinary reason and hides whatever else he carries, so his own dominant blue eye state cannot be read and is not established. He is not recorded as a carrier. He sired litters Z4 out of Ermine Trace Athena, A5 out of Ermine Trace Enya and E5 out of Ermine Trace Laurika. The first two dams both carry DBE-nad, so every dominant blue eyed kitten in those litters is accounted for by the dam alone and nothing in them shows what he carries. His E5 litter, out of a dam with no eye code, produced two colourpoints and is equally silent. One test on him would settle all three. S_ERMINE_LITTERS_239 | two names, one cat, and the register is holding both until the compiler rules. The cattery's litter page for F5 gives the sire of Faberge Ermine Trace as Ermine trace Velvet, BRI as 11 33, out of Ermine Trace Zarafina on 7 April 2022. Faberge's own certificate, gives the sire of the same kitten on the same date out of the same dam as Ermine trace Barkhat, BRI as 11 33. The codes are identical, the dam is the same and the date is the same. On the evidence these are one animal under two names. The rule is that a cat which has produced the trait by two or more different mates, none of which shows it either, must itself carry it. He has done it by three. Boon Lora, a British Longhair of no Ermine Trace descent and no eye code, gave two showing kittens by him; Ermine Trace Nyusha, no eye code, gave one; Ermine Trace Plamia, no eye code, gave three of four. Three unrelated-enough dams, none showing, all producing the trait by the same sire. A dominant determinant cannot appear in those kittens from two parents that carry none, and the sire is the only factor common to all three litters. He is a colourpoint, as 11 33, which is exactly why nothing shows on him. The variant is adopted on the pedigree and not on a test, and one test on him would confirm it and would also settle the Barkhat identity question above. S_ERMINE_LITTERS_239 | the collision flagged on 13 SEPTEMBER 2026 is ruled and the two records are one cat. Ermine Trace Barkhat and Velvet Ermine Trace were held separately. Barkhat is the Russian word for Velvet, the cattery writes the name in Russian on its own litter pages and in English on the registry, and the two records return the same colour, the same dams, the same litter dates and the same kittens. Three kittens were held twice because of it and are merged with him: Angel Ermine Trace, Azia Ermine Trace and Gourami Blue Ermine Trace. The obligate carrier finding is strengthened, not weakened: the rule fired on three non-showing dams under the Velvet record, and Barkhat adds Faberge Ermine Trace out of Zarafina, a fourth. The code tail is the only disagreement, the registry writing 09 and 68 where the cattery writes neither, which is the split that runs through every Ermine Trace cat in this register. That is the Velvet colour code with the white figure added, under the English name, in a document the cattery wrote itself. One cat, two names, and the cattery uses both. It gives Velvet Ermine trace, BRI as 11 33 08, blue silver shaded point with DBE white, born 15 JANUARY 2020, sire Lazurit Ermine trace, dam Jeana Ermine trace. This record holds Ermine Trace Barkhat at BSH as 09 11 33 68, born 15 January 2020, out of Ermine Trace Lazurit by Ermine Trace Jeana. Same day, same sire, same dam, same colour. The white figure now agrees too, 08 on the Velvet entry against 09 on PawPeds being the only remaining difference in the tail. One cat. S_VELVET_244 | the complete recorded reproduction, set out as one cat for the first time. Nineteen kittens by seven dams. Three of the dams are themselves coded and so test nothing: Ermine Trace Athena, Zarafina Ermine Trace and Ermine Trace Enya. Four carry no eye code at all, and three of those four produced showing kittens by him. Plamia Ermine Trace, BRI ny 11, gave four and three of them show: Gourami Blue coded 61, Gourami Pearl 63, Graal 63. Boon Lora, BLH ny 11, gave four and two show: Quatis coded 68 and Quila 68. Ermine Trace Nyusha, BSH ny 12, gave three and one shows: X-Lily coded 68. The fourth, Ermine trace Laurika, BRI ny 12, gave two colourpoints and nothing readable. The rule is that a cat which produces the trait by two or more different mates, none of which shows it either, must itself carry it. He has done it by three, and eleven of his nineteen recorded kittens carry an eye code or a colourpoint code that hides one. He is a colourpoint, as 11 33, which is why nothing shows on him. S_CARRIER_245 | the obligate carrier claim on this cat is withdrawn, 13 SEPTEMBER 2026. The register held that he must carry the determinant because he produced it by three different mates, none of which shows it. The rule requires mates that cannot themselves be carrying it, and two of the three can. Nyusha Ermine Trace reaches Ermine Trace Nadeya through Ermine Trace Ulrika and Ermine Trace Egretka; Plamia Ermine Trace reaches her through Ermine Trace Yersella and Ermine Trace Lazurit. Either may be a latent carrier, and the published work on this line found carriers hiding under colourpoint coats, so that is the ordinary case here and not a remote one. The determinant in those two litters could have come from either parent. One mate is left, Boon Lora, who holds no recorded ancestry in this register and is not an Ermine trace cat, and one is not two. The claim is withdrawn and the earlier wording is kept above, not deleted. The grade does not move: he descends from the genotyped founder by unbroken parent links through Ermine Trace Lazurit, and DBE-NAD stands on him at lineage grade on that ground alone, which is where every other traced cat of this line stands. Nothing below him changes. S_WITHDRAW_246 | the finding is restored on a different and better basis than the one withdrawn earlier today. It no longer rests on counting mates. It rests on one documented and empty pedigree. Boon Lora's own sheet returns thirty ancestors over four complete generations and not one of them carries an eye code. She is BLH ny 11 with no code of her own and no 33 to hide one, so her state is readable and she shows nothing, and nothing on her sheet reaches the Ermine Trace line. She gave four kittens by this sire and two of them are coded 68, Quatis Ermine Trace and Quila Ermine Trace. The determinant is not available from her side, so it came from his. This is the argument the register already uses on Ermine Trace Jeana and on DriveGrad Dream, and it is stronger than the mate count because it rests on what a pedigree records rather than on what a phenotype fails to show. 9. Ermine trace Athena. Code. Two sources, two coding systems, and the survey reconciles neither. The PawPeds dominant blue eye listing read 17 August 2026 gives this cat as BSH ny 11 68. The code already held here is from a breeder-compiled chart and is written in the 60, 61 and 63 system. Which system a document uses is itself one of this survey's findings, so both are recorded against their sources and neither is preferred | Latency. Stated by a source, not demonstrated by a test. Latent is a claim that this cat carries a variant while showing no blue or odd eye, and here it rests on a breeder-compiled document rather than on a laboratory result. Three cats in this register are latent on a genotype: Belle Ayr Onyxx, DBE-ALT, and Robin and Rocky, both DBE-RE. This is not one of them
10. Drivegrad dream. A parentage contradiction closed by a document, and a warning about the shortcut that would have closed it wrongly. This register held both recorded parents of this cat as the same sex, which cannot be right, and could not resolve it from anything it held | the parents field is ordered sire first on 977 records of 1,010, and it would have been easy to treat that as a rule. On the Wabisabi's my Mona-Lee sheet the sire is the animal held second. Had the convention been applied as a rule, Fancy Skyblue Kotomodda would have been written male, and she is a tortie, BSH q. 11. Gourami blue Ermine trace. This cat was held twice and the two records are merged. Gourami Blue Ermine Trace stood once from the PawPeds listing as a child of Ermine Trace Barkhat and once from the cattery's own litter page as a child of Velvet Ermine Trace. Barkhat is the Russian for Velvet and they are one sire, so the two entries were one kitten: same name, same day, same dam.
