What is flagged on this tree

1. Rociri Elvis, given on the pedigree as Rociri's Elvis. His own sheet, and what is and is not on it. Thirty ancestors, all thirty unique, four complete generations, inbreeding 0.0 PER cent. THE 68 on him is the only 68 on the whole document and the only eye code of any kind on it is the 63 on Justcoons ha Shisch, MCO w 63, a dominant white odd-eyed cat in the third generation. His grandsire Mainefield's Oye Como Va is MCO w, also white, and carries no eye code. No other animal on the sheet carries an eye code at all. That is the whole of the evidence above him: two white cats, one of them odd-eyed, and twenty-eight animals with nothing recorded about their eyes. In a white cat an eye cannot be read either way, so the sheet neither supplies a source for his 68 nor rules one out, which is why the published trace above him runs through white cats and goes cold there | tested against both new variants and excluded from both. Abitbol M, Eisele T and Lipovenko E, 'Additional PAX3 Variants for Dominant Blue Eyes in Cats', Animal Genetics 2026;57:e70199, Table 1 gives 'Rociri Elvis, 1, wild-type' for DBE-NAD and C/C for DBE-MARU. The register records the position and does not adopt it as its own finding: a schematic on a website is not a paper, and where this register needs the science it cites the papers directly. It is recorded because it is checkable, and because the position in the gene is the one thing about these variants that a breeder can never observe and a laboratory never reports on a result sheet. 2. Joyfield's Survivor van Nous Deux. Panel. The result that named this cat's variant came from a panel of four: DBE-ALT, DBE-re, DBE-CEL and DBE-AGO. DBE-cDc and DBE-xHW were not on it, so a second variant from those two would not have been seen
3. Joyfield's Survivor van Nous Deux. Variant taken over high white, on a ruling and not on a test. This cat carries dominant white, a van, harlequin or bicolour figure, or a point figure, any of which leaves enough unpigmented iris to account for a blue eye without PAX3. It also carries a variant or stands in a DBE line, and the holder ruled on 31 August 2026 that the variant is taken as the cause in that situation. The alternative is not closed and only a genotype closes it. A photograph is better evidence of extent than a code, so where one has been read the phenotype note should be preferred to this flag. 4. Belleayr Oblue Sky. The strongest evidence in this register that 68 AND 69 are one variant, and it rests on a genotype and not on an inference. Three full sisters, one mating, 14 SEPTEMBER 2022, out of Joyfield's Survivor van Nous Deux, MCO es 03 68, and Justcoons Ohio State, MCO ds 22. All three are genotyped DBE-re. The registries coded them three different ways: Belleayr O'blue Sky is MCO ds 11 68, Belleayr O'blue Sea is MCO ds 09 11 with no eye code at all, and Belleayr O'blue pearl is MCO ds 09 11 69. Two of the three are blue-eyed and one is odd-eyed. One allele, confirmed by test on each animal separately, produced a 68, A 69 and a blank in one litter. The Arst Venezia descent and the Ermine trace sheets reach the same conclusion by reading codes down a pedigree; this litter reaches it from the laboratory. It is therefore the primary evidence in this register on the question and those are the corroboration. It also shows that an absent eye code is not an absent variant: o'Blue Sea is blue-eyed, genotyped, and carries no eye code, so every count in this register drawn from eye codes understates
5. Belleayr Soda Pop. Recording. Genotype and eye come from different sources and both are now held. She is coded MCO as 22 94 with no eye code. The eye is odd, stated by the breeder 18 August 2026 | Variant. Set from the breeder's statement, not from a laboratory report seen by this survey. The breeder of the Belle Ayr cattery states that every Belle Ayr Maine Coon carries DBE-RE and every Belle Ayr British Shorthair carries DBE-ALT. The grade on this record is unchanged by that statement: it says which variant is at issue, not that this animal was tested | Panel. The result that named this cat's variant came from a panel of four: DBE-ALT, DBE-re, DBE-CEL and DBE-AGO.
