Quincy ARS BRITANNICA
prefix ARS BRITANNICA · British · the source records no eye colour · No variant and no line attributed
Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 161p. A carrier of a variant nobody has sequenced, on no named line. This is the group bare 161 exists for. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.
How this cat is connected to the trait
NO RECORDED PARENT LINK JOINS THIS CAT TO A FOUNDER OR TO A TESTED ANIMAL. Nothing in the record connects it to the trait at all.

What it would be carrying
DBE-ALT. Exactly one variant below this cat is fixed by a DNA genotype or by a first-degree lineage genotype, through Topaz, Misha Zojka, Yassminka Zojka, and the name travels back up the path the deduction came down. THIS NAMES THE VARIANT AND DOES NOT UPGRADE THE CARRIAGE: what changed is which test to order.
What the pedigree implies
ONE OF AN OBLIGATE PAIR. Paired with Paula Emerald Flower, for Yagger Zojka
This is computed from the recorded parentage each time this site is built and is not typed into the register. It is a deduction from the trait being dominant, not a statement by any source, and it is not the same thing as the record's own status field. Only a laboratory settles it for an individual. The full list is on latent lines.

The description held
given on the chart as Quincy ARS BRITANNICA*PL, coded BRI cy 11 with the note '(cy 12 in WCF)', that is the same animal is coded differently by two registries. No eye icon is drawn on him HE IS THE SIRE OF BOTH PARENTS OF A GENOTYPED CAT, and that makes him the single most informative animal in this cattery. Sammy and Yassminka are his offspring and were bred together; their son Topaz is genotyped DBE^ALT. THE VARIANT REACHED HIM DOWN ONE OF TWO ROUTES AND NOTHING HELD HERE SAYS WHICH. DBE^ALT is dominant and Topaz Zojka is heterozygous, so AT LEAST ONE OF HIS PARENTS CARRIES IT. HIS PARENTS ARE HALF-SIBLINGS: Sammy Zojka and Yassminka Zojka are both out of Quincy ARS BRITANNICA, who carries no eye code at all. EITHER THE VARIANT ENTERED THROUGH QUINCY, in which case he is a latent carrier of a named variant and it explains the blue eyes on both sides below him, OR IT ENTERED THROUGH YASSMINKA'S DAM PAULA EMERALD FLOWER, who is already recorded latent and is on the Nadeya line, IN WHICH CASE DBE^ALT SITS INSIDE THE NADEYA LINE, one of the largest lines in this register for which no variant has been identified. A SINGLE TEST ON QUINCY DISCRIMINATES BETWEEN THE TWO AND EITHER ANSWER IS A FINDING. NEITHER IS ASSUMED. S_TOPAZ_176 TWO FULL SIBLINGS OUT OF ONE MATING ARE GENOTYPED DBE^ALT, Topaz Zojka and Misha Zojka, both heterozygous, both out of Sammy Zojka over Yassminka Zojka. ONE POSITIVE KITTEN LEAVES A NEW MUTATION OPEN; TWO OUT OF ONE PAIRING MAKES A CARRIER PARENT THE ONLY ORDINARY EXPLANATION. Which parent is still not established, and their sire Quincy ARS BRITANNICA, who is the sire of both of them and carries no eye code, remains the one animal a single test would discriminate on. S_MISHA_177 A CAT OF THE NADEYA LINE IS NOW GENOTYPED, AND THAT DOES NOT IDENTIFY THE NADEYA DETERMINANT. Yassminka Zojka is genotyped DBE^ALT and is attributed to the Nadeya line, which is the first laboratory result on any animal this register places on that line. SHE HAS TWO PARENTS AND ONLY ONE OF THEM IS ON IT: her sire Quincy ARS BRITANNICA is not, and her dam Paula Emerald Flower is. IF THE VARIANT CAME FROM QUINCY it entered from outside the line and the Nadeya determinant is still unidentified; IF IT CAME FROM PAULA then DBE^ALT is inside the Nadeya line. NOTHING HELD HERE CHOOSES BETWEEN THEM, and one DBE^ALT test on Paula Emerald Flower settles it outright. IT ALSO DOES NOT EXCLUDE A SECOND VARIANT: the laboratory offers a DBE-ALT product only, so DBE^CEL, DBE^RE, DBE^AGO, DBE^cDc and DBE^xHW were not tested in any of these cats, and a Nadeya determinant distinct from DBE^ALT would not have shown up. S_YASSMINKA_178 HIS PEDIGREE IS NOW HELD AND HIS CODE IS CORRECTED. PawPeds gives him BSH cy 12 and Poland; this register held him at BRI cy 11 and the sheet is followed. Two complete generations of four, eighteen ancestors of thirty, NOT ONE CARRYING AN EYE CODE, and both granddams' lines run out into 'no information in the database'. HIS ANCESTRY TOUCHES PAULA'S: Estelle Maxelpoint stands in his dam's line, and the Maxelpoint cattery also stands in Paula Emerald Flower's line through Elisey Maxelpoint. IF THOSE TWO ARE RELATED THEN THE TWO CANDIDATE ROUTES INTO YASSMINKA ARE NOT INDEPENDENT. Nothing held here joins them. S_FIVE_184
Note
The code and the description do not use the same words for this coat. Both are recorded and neither is reconciled to the other.

breeder-compiled genealogy C13, headed 'NANOTIGR BLUE-EYED BRITISH SHORTHAIRS, DBE-ALT', with the right-hand panel headed 'LINK TO ERMINE TRACE BLUE-EYED BRITISH', READ AT FULL RESOLUTION 18 August 2026. The chart draws each cat with two eye icons, blue, green, gold or red, and writes a variant in red beside the cats it attributes one to. NO CAT ON IT CARRIES A GENOTYPE and the red labels are the compiler's attribution; and the PawPeds pedigree for Quincy Ars Britannica, BSH cy 12, male, Poland, supplied 29 August 2026. EIGHTEEN ANCESTORS OF THIRTY POSSIBLE, two complete generations of four, and both granddams' lines run out into 'no information in the database'. NOT ONE ANIMAL ON IT CARRIES AN EYE CODE
This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
